Decoders
NDB beacons
Read the slow Morse name of an aeronautical beacon and find it in the offline list.

What it does #
An NDB is a simple radio beacon that sends its name in slow Morse. The decoder reads the name and looks it up in the beacon list. It is not for navigation.
Where to find it #
On Home, tune the frequency of a beacon in AM, CW, USB or LSB. An NDB card appears while a beacon frequency is tuned.
What the card shows #
| Part | What it says |
|---|---|
| Ident | The Morse name that was read. |
| Beacon | Its name and type from the list, with the distance and the bearing from your antenna. Without an antenna location it shows the country. |
| Heard | How many times the name was heard. |
| Morse text | What the Morse decoder read last. |
While it waits, the card says it is listening for the beacon's Morse name (slow Morse, every 10 to 30 seconds). If the name is not in the list near the frequency, it says that too.
